Hergert 3rd at National Educators Rising Conference
Landon Hergert brought home third place honors from the prestigious National Educators Rising Conference in Portland, Oregon, competing against 70 of the nation's top student educators.
Hergert represented Plainview High School's Educators Rising Chapter at the National Educators Rising Conference held June 19-23, competing in the Exploring Non-core Subject Teaching Careers Varsity Division. This achievement places Landon among the elite educators-in-training from across the country.
This year's national conference, "Teach with Purpose, Lead with Passion," drew over 3,800 attendees, including 150+ Nebraska delegates. Keynote speakers included Ashlie Crosson, 2025 National Teacher of the Year, and Bryan Butcher Jr., 2025 Oregon State Teacher of the Year.
“I am incredibly proud of Landon’s accomplishments this year,” said Teacher Leader Ronita Jacobsen. “As a first-year competitor, the sheer volume of time he dedicated to research, job shadowing, speech writing, and presentation practice was immense. However, that level of commitment is exactly what it takes to succeed nationally. Landon set an ambitious goal and executed his plan perfectly to achieve it.”
The accomplishments of Landon reflect the dedication and excellence fostered at Plainview High School to their Education and Training Pathway, all 4 courses are dual credit through Wayne State College. Congratulations to Landon on bringing pride to our school community.
The 2027 Educators Rising National Conference will be held in Columbus, Ohio. Plainview High School Educators Rising Members look forward to continued participation and success.
